The Priest’s House Museum & Garden and Wimborne Tourist Information Centre are holding an information session at the museum for new volunteers on Thursday 27 April at 2.30pm. The session is being organised as part of ‘Discover Wimborne’, an initiative by Wimborne BID.
The museum wishes to expand its tearoom team in preparation for a proposed refurbishment project. If it secures all the funding, it is planned to open the refurbished museum in 2019. Although it seems a long way off time will fly. The museum would like to start increasing its team now so that it is ready for this exciting phase of its development. The tearoom and garden will become the focal point of its activity during the proposed transformation. If you have a desire to try something different or have experience in catering please come and find out more.
Help is also needed in the Tourist Information Centre and learning team.
It isn’t essential to have experience in these areas as training will be given. What the museum and Tourist Information Centre need is your enthusiasm and they’ll provide the rest. You will be contributing to over 10,000 hours of volunteering given by the local community.
So to discover more about volunteering come along to an informal meeting, where you will have an opportunity to find out more about these opportunities, a chance to look around the museum, meet some of our volunteers along with some light refreshments and get a look behind the scenes.
If you have a morning or even a day to spare and can’t get to us on those dates, please contact Andy Fairhurst on 01202 882533, email email@example.com or visit our website at www.priest-house.co.uk.
‘Discover Wimborne’ takes place this April, when Wimborne will be hosting a range of business, culture, food & drink and shopping related events to encourage visitors and locals alike to explore the delights of the town and discover Wimborne as a destination.
