Bournemouth University Centre for Archaeology & Anthropology Department of Archaeology, Anthropology & Forensic Science, Faculty of Science & Technology present THE BIG DIG EXHIBITION.
Held at the Atrium Gallery, Talbot Campus. For more information contact Damian Evans email: email@example.com
Note: The exhibition is now open to the public at Bournemouth University, featuring the story of the site’s discovery, geophys plots, and some of the DBD finds, including a reconstruction of the MIA pit with a ritual dog deposit plus other artefacts that our own Jane Randall excavated in 2013 (see below) and examples of jewellery, coins, iron, shale and stone items, plus a lovely reconstructed pot. The free display is in the Atrium Gallery of Poole House (the main reception building). If visitors park in the pay carpark, and go into the main entrance, they will be directed upstairs nearby to the gallery. Just opposite the main reception desk in a separate display case on the left as you go in are a few ‘taster items’ advertising the upstairs exhibition, amongst which is another sizeable near complete pot with lug handles, which was in several piles of sherds with Caspar the deposited dog in Jane’s pit, and which she has reassembled since January!
