The Friends of the Priest’s House Museum are holding the annual Summer Fete at the museum in Wimborne on Saturday 5 August, 10am to 4pm. Jam-packed with fantastic stalls and activities, it’s a fun day out for the whole family topped off with a performance by Bronia Evers from One Moment in Time Storytelling and live music from the fabulous local ukulele group, Skittle Alley Strummers.
The garden’s hidden alcoves and secluded lawns will be packed with an array of stalls including pre-loved vintage, linens, cakes and preserves, and plants. Together with traditional children’s games, there will be a raffle on the day with a great selection of prizes.
As part of ‘Sting in the Tale – A Festival of Stories’, Bronia Evers from One Moment in Time Storytelling will perform ‘A Necklace of Raindrops’ at 2.00. Bronia will conjure a world of magic, mayhem and moonlit adventures! Suitable for children age 5+ (children must be accompanied).
Skittle Alley Strummers, the local ukulele group, will be performing two sets in the afternoon at 1.30 and 2.30, playing old ukulele favourites and jolly upbeat tunes.
Emma Ayling, the museum’s director, said: “We are really excited about the Summer Fete, which is a big fundraising event for the museum – as well as a whole lot of fun!
“There will be something for everyone with a wide range of stalls and games; live music and theatre; and of course the opportunity to take a peek at the fascinating museum and to explore the beautiful walled garden. It’s a brilliant day for the whole family and we hope to see you there!”
A BBQ and a range of refreshments from the Garden Tea Room will be available. Plus, ice creams to cool down after all the excitement.
Admission is FREE.
