This year we would have been celebrating the hundredth birthday of Robin Noscoe, one of the Wimborne Civic Society founders in 1973. He was an artist, sculptor, architect, potter: a man of many talents. His working career was as Head of Art at Canford School, where among his pupils were Derek Jarman the filmmaker, Robert Adam architect, author Peter Parker and artist Richard Walker.
Robin’s friends and family have gathered together an exhibition of his work, and this will be shown at Ian Willis’s Serles house at 47 Victoria Road. This is being coordinated by the Civic Society, and the opening dates during Dorset Architectural Heritage Week in September are Thursday 7 from 2.00 to 4.00 pm, Saturday 9 from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm and Wednesday 13 from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm. There will be a member of his family at each of the openings.
