The Dorset History Network was founded in 2007 as the Dorset History Forum.  Over the last 10 years the Dorset History Network has held a number of events around the county and in Dorchester. The Network aims to bring together the numerous history and archaeology groups and individuals in Dorset to share knowledge and meet with others in the county who share a love of Dorset history and heritage. At the AGM in November it was announced that an event would be held in the spring to celebrate this anniversary and to plan the way forward for the Network.

Speakers from the British Association for Local History and the Wiltshire Local History Forum will set the scene of local history nationally and in a neighbouring county but we are keen to hear from you, the members, on the future for the Dorset History Network. You can view The Dorset History Network Celebrates 10 Years programme for this event on Saturday 8th April 2017 at the Dorset History Centre.  If you are your society contact please share this with your members; we want to bring together as many Dorset history enthusiasts as possible. If you know of any other local societies which could join the Network please pass on this information to them.

We look forward to seeing you on 8th April and helping us celebrate the Dorset History Network anniversary.

Best wishes

Jacqui Halewood

Chairman, Dorset History Network
