The Dorset History Network

You can now read a report on the “What’s new in Dorset Local History” event

The Dorset History Network (DHN) is for everyone with an interest in any aspect of the history of the ancient and modern county of Dorset: local history, landscape history, family history, archaeology and the built environment are just a few of the interests of our members.

We seek to encourage the use of a wide range of source materials including museum artefacts, archives and local studies collections for all historical periods and subject areas.

The Dorset History Network (DHN) brings together the numerous groups and individuals interested in the history of the county ‘to build a history community in Dorset’ by sharing knowledge, promoting research and improving communication between members. We believe that an interest in history should be fun and that enjoyment is enhanced by working with others who have similar interests.

This website is an important means of communication between our members and includes pages them to have a web presence or to link to their own website and advertise their events. Through the website, you can keep up to date with the latest news from our members, or find out more about different local groups.
